If you follow us on Instagram, it’s no secret that sunset is my favorite color. When we travel, most of my days revolve around when and where the sunset is happening. I’m not the only one, though. Many people flock to the best westward facing locations every day. We’ve even seen people applauding the sunset. “Yay! Good job sun! You did what you do every day!” While it’s easy to laugh, it’s also easy to understand the motivation behind the round of applause; some sunsets are just out of this world! When it comes to sunsets, it’s hard to beat Southeast Asia.

When traveling in Southeast Asia, you will be treated to many a sunset. It’s a great marketing tool for local businesses offering everything from sunset cruises to horseback riding. On beaches from Bali to the Thai islands, sunset cocktails and live music are a big part of the experience. Be sure and have your camera ready!

Watching the sun dip below the ocean with a fresh coconut or cold beer in hand just never gets old. Whether you spent the day hiking, exploring temples, or just lounging on the beach, it’s the perfect way to end it and transition into the nightlife.
Bagan sunset is a must to see but unfortunately its not in your list.
We can add it as an honorable mention! It was really hazy when we were in Bagan so we didn’t great photos of the sunset there. Hopefully next time! Thanks for the comment 🙂
Ugh I cannot pick a favorite! The sunsets in SE Asia are unlike any other!
They really are! Even I can’t pick an absolute favorite. Maybe I should have asked for a top 3 list, lol!
These are absolutely lovely! I love sunsets, too. Amazing to see the sky paint itself anew. My favorite is #2 (Bohol). But they’re all fab, really.
